THE SYSTEM IN PRACTICE
Blue Boat is a Blue Robotics platform designed for transport by car and on-site preparation. Its folding structure and mounting points let you arrange equipment around the survey you need to carry out.
Control is based on Navigator, GPS, BlueOS and ArduRover firmware. Features include waypoint navigation, position hold and automatic return, configured to suit operating conditions.

CONFIGURATIONS, EQUIPMENT AND DATA
BlueBoat folds for transport by car and is quick to prepare. Its hull and two M200 motors are designed to help it travel through weed and debris. Numerous mounting points accommodate hydrographic instruments, sensors and robotic systems.
The flexible electronics architecture and open-source BlueOS software support research and development. Navigator, GPS and ArduRover firmware manage navigation.
The Base Station is the Wi-Fi access point between computer and vehicle, with an internal battery, USB-C charging port and wired network connection. Configurations with tripod-mounted panel and Yagi antennas and a 4G LTE modem are also available; 4G is a cellular link, not a satellite link.
Link range varies with the radio, antennas and operating conditions. References for the different configurations are 250 m for the Base Station, 630 m with Yagi and up to 1 km with standard antennas: these are neither equivalent nor cumulative performance figures. We define the range for the chosen configuration. One Base Station can manage multiple BlueBoats.
