ENGINEERING AND FIELD OPERATIONS

Know the vehicle.
Understand the environment.

We design and develop remotely operated vehicles and equipment for underwater exploration. We integrate the systems and use them directly in our own research.

Working directly with the vehicles reveals what a specification sheet alone cannot: preparation, tether handling, attitude, visibility and interventions between missions.

These observations guide our choices on power, connections, imaging and sensors. Development is built around the operator’s needs.

Special Research Operations Team

We design, build and operate remotely controlled vehicles for underwater exploration. Field trials help us understand their limits and possibilities and develop tools suited to people working underwater.

Services and activities

  • Inspection of flooded tunnels and caves, wells and tanks.
  • Surveying submerged structures and objects, including in poor visibility and at significant depths, depending on the vehicle used.
  • Surveying hazardous wrecks.
  • Monitoring seabed pollution and collecting environmental samples.
  • Remote observation to support diving teams.
  • Searching for buried objects in ports and construction areas.
  • Discovering and monitoring underwater archaeological heritage and sites of historical and environmental interest.
  • Remote observation of coastal areas and collection of data on local biological activity.

A workshop, a team.

We design underwater exploration vehicles, from platform selection to mission equipment. Our range includes 500 m configurations and endurance from 3 to 30 hours: depth and duration depend on the model, installed power and operating profile, and are not capabilities shared by every ROV.
