We offer 1,500-lumen Blue Robotics lights and our own high-intensity lights. These are separate product families: output, connections and operating limits must not be transferred from one to the other.

Light placement affects the result as much as power. Angle and distance from the camera help illuminate the scene; in turbid water, backscatter from suspended particles must also be considered.

A closer look.

Two families, adjustable intensity

Depth, water clarity and operating conditions determine the lighting needed. Both Blue Robotics and SORS families offer intensity adjustment through the ROV control software.

SORS lights

The pair of lights uses external connections at both the ROV and light ends to simplify replacement between missions. Each unit has a screw-free body, adjustable intensity and 5,000-lumen output.

The earlier catalogue page lists a 900 m test. The detailed specification distinguishes body, cable and connector and gives other values: the complete system limit is confirmed for the configuration, keeping component ratings separate.

Using the lights

Do not look directly into operating lights or point them at anyone’s eyes.
Do not leave them operating out of water: underwater cooling is necessary to prevent overheating.
