THE SYSTEM IN PRACTICE
Side scan builds an acoustic representation of the seabed as the vehicle travels. Shapes, shadows and differences in return help identify features for further passes or ROV investigation.
The configuration can use one or two units to observe one or both sides. SonarView handles display; georeferencing requires a positioning system and coordinated data integration.

CONFIGURATIONS, EQUIPMENT AND DATA
One or two units can be mounted on BlueBoat or BlueROV with the appropriate support. Two transducers acquire both sides, with combined coverage up to 180° in the specified configuration. Wreck search and underwater archaeology are among the intended applications.
SonarView, also available as a BlueOS extension, displays and records scans, supports playback and manages settings. Bottom detection can remove the empty central strip from the image. The map and vehicle position display require consistent navigation data; they do not automatically constitute a 3D seabed survey.
