THE SYSTEM IN PRACTICE

How it fits
your work.

The Omnitrack surface module integrates two GNSS receivers to determine position and heading. This approach reduces reliance on magnetic heading measurements.

The system can integrate with BlueROV and optionally Tracker 650 DVL. Data fusion requires correct ArduSub configuration. For standalone use, data can be displayed in Cerulean SonarView.

CONFIGURATIONS, EQUIPMENT AND DATA

A closer look.

Surface buoy and position estimation

The ring-shaped surface module can be transported by car. Two GNSS receivers provide position and heading, reducing reliance on magnetic measurements. The system integrates with BlueROV and optionally Tracker 650.

ArduSub can fuse acoustic USBL and DVL measurements when correctly configured. For use independently of BlueROV, SonarView collects and displays the data.

Wired and wireless configurations

The wired configuration uses 25 m of neutrally buoyant cable for power and communication. The wireless configuration uses a lithium-ion battery in an IP65 enclosure: the surface enclosure’s protection rating is not the acoustic unit’s diving depth.

Specifications for the earlier Mk III configuration

These values apply to the Mk III configuration, not the Mk V kit. Resolution does not equal absolute positional accuracy; the 300 m depth exposure applies to the specified acoustic unit, not the entire surface module.

Specifications for the earlier Mk III configuration
Maximum depth exposure (minimum crush depth)300 m
Maximum Range300 m
Apparent yaw (azimuth resolution)0,1°
Apparent elevation angle resolution0,1°
Slant range measurement resolution0.1 m
Update Rate1Hz
Ping Frequency25 kHz
