THE SYSTEM IN PRACTICE
Mark II uses a GNSS time reference to synchronise receiver and transmitter. Both units must acquire the signal before diving and periodically according to the manufacturer’s procedure.
This affects operating duration and planning. Comparison with Mark III and Mark V therefore starts with surface access, available networking and required continuity.
Synchronisation through exposure to the GNSS signal.
Does not require the Mark V synchronisation network.
Assess resynchronisation intervals and clock drift.
