ROV / SORS ENGINEERING
A dedicated configuration, built on field experience.
A family of configurations combining the Blue Robotics platform with our own solutions.
Request informationTHE SYSTEM IN PRACTICE
SORS Advanced grew from operators’ requests and our field experience. Development covers endurance, connections, modular electronics and vehicle handling.
Advanced I uses eight thrusters, external steel connectors and interchangeable modules. Advanced II focuses on power and integration with surface systems.
Electronics and components organised for easier servicing.
Peripherals connected through dedicated underwater connectors.
Option to pair a Dock Station for mission management.
CONFIGURATIONS, EQUIPMENT AND DATA
Configuration with up to 4 hours of endurance without battery changes and a 500 m operating depth. External 304 stainless steel connectors and interchangeable power and electronics modules support quick servicing between missions.
Configuration with two hydrodynamic Maxi Tanks. The introduction states up to 10 hours without replacement; the table gives 9–11 hours depending on environment and piloting.
Integration with dedicated SORS wireless buoys provides Full HD streaming and a link up to 50 km from the operator. This is surface-link performance in the specified configuration, not radio transmission through water. Actual range, antennas and conditions are defined for the mission.

| BlueTrail Engineering 304 stainless steel underwater connectors for all peripherals. | ROV-side bulkhead (3 or more pins) | Female connector attached to peripheral cables (thrusters, lights, battery cable, tether, and any sonar, GPS, etc.) |
| BlueTrail Engineering 304 stainless steel underwater tether connectors | ROV-side bulkhead (3 or more pins) | Allows the ROV to be disconnected from the tether for easier transport. |

| Upper watertight enclosure (electronics): | 6061 aluminium enclosure with 18-hole aluminium rear end cap | Acrylic front dome |
| Lower watertight enclosure (batteries): | 6061 aluminium enclosure with 5-hole aluminium rear end cap | Blank aluminium front end cap (no holes) |
| Buoyancy foam: | R-3318 urethane foam specially treated for high depths | |
| Ballast weights: | 200 g lead weights | |
| Battery connector: | XT 90 |
| Advanced I power | 2 parallel 14.8 V 4S LiPo batteries (10,000 mAh each) | 3–4 hours (depending on environmental conditions and piloting) |
|---|---|---|
| Advanced II power | 2 hydrodynamic MAXI Tanks | 9–11 hours (depending on environmental conditions and piloting) |
Dock Station with PC and 22-inch monitor, optional touchscreen, preinstalled software and external ROV connection. Its own endurance is up to 7 hours, extendable; it can also run from the vessel’s mains supply.
Reference configuration testing includes 2-hour tests at 550 m and component tests at 55 bar before delivery. Test depth and operating depth are distinct: the supplied configuration and its documentation govern each delivery.
Custom design starts with logistical and operating requirements: energy, modules, connections and instruments are assessed as one system.
