THE SYSTEM IN PRACTICE
Currents and tether tension affect piloting. The DVL supplies velocity measurements that the ROV control system can use for stabilisation and displacement estimation.
Tracker 650 integrates with BlueOS and ArduSub. It uses attitude data from the ROV’s IMU, so sensor and vehicle settings and calibration must be consistent.
Velocity and displacement data for navigation functions.
Uses the attitude reference already onboard the ROV.
Option to associate motion measurements with Omniscan FS data.
CONFIGURATIONS, EQUIPMENT AND DATA
Tracker 650 supplies velocity measurements and delta-position messages to ArduSub/MAVLink2REST. With consistent settings, these data support control protocols and position display in QGroundControl.
The sensor uses the ROV IMU as its attitude reference, avoiding a second IMU to calibrate. Position holding also depends on acoustic conditions, available thrust, currents and tether tension.
Pairing with Omniscan FS and dedicated software associates movement and acoustic images to reconstruct the scanned area. The result requires appropriate alignment, references and configuration; it does not imply certified equivalence to other sonars.
